Fair Week September 12-16, 2018

Fair President's Welcome!

I as Fair President have the honor and pleasure on behalf of this all volunteer 501 (c3) corporation to invite one and all to come to the Anne Arundel County Fair, a tradition passed down thru the generations. This Fair is unlike so many other forms of entertainment these days in Anne Arundel county and it must be experienced firsthand. This Fair is not just a ride in the carnival, a meal from a food truck, a ride on a pony, a relaxing evening of entertainment or a gathering place of our community. The Fair allows you the chance to participate by entering your child’s first popsicle stick barn, with your family favorite jar of pickles or calling the hogs or husband home.

Please take the time to read through this Fair Premium Book that was printed for your convenience. This catalogs purpose is to help explain the entering, judging and award process here at the Fair. It also provides the rules and regulations for open exhibition classes in home arts exhibit departments, livestock expositions as well as many other competitive contests.

Pay close attention to department rules, entry deadlines and release times are for those show areas.

I can hardly wait to see this year’s fair entries showcased for all to see as well as the faces of those that show them so proudly for all to see.

Please join us this September where the fair will again showcase the best our county and community has to offer.

We encourage you to come visit with family, friends and neighbors as we jam pack the 5 days of Anne Arundel County Fair week. There are so many things for you and your family to see and do. The fair provides many areas of interests for the whole family to enjoy. Both young and old alike will appreciate it all in a festive and social environment. See daily entertainment, contests, shows, demonstrations, displays, foods and goods offered by a variety of fair vendors. There is something different around every corner.

The Fair would like to thank all of those who stood with us in keeping our Fair home here in Crownsville with the State of MD thru DNR. Let us pray they will continue to invest in our future and we will continue our stay here to grow and educate those generations yet to come.

I thank all our dedicated fair volunteers and members who make it possible to have this fair each year. When you meet one thank them for their service? I am in hopes that you may one day also come and help with this all volunteer endeavor also. I also thank those volunteering at the fair through other volunteer organizations as well. We thank you all for the time you give (A. A. County 4-H, Boy Scout Troops, A. A. County. Antique Tractor Club, Master Gardeners, Reserve Officers and Herald Harbor and other Volunteer Fire Departments). Without all these volunteers the Fair could not provide the many programs and events to you or our Community throughout the year.

Thanks to other supporting state and county organizations and Departments. for their dedication to the integrity, support and safety of our agricultural exhibits. Organizations like the Agricultural Fair Board, MAAFS/Maryland Association of Agricultural Fairs and Shows, UME/Cooperative Extension, Farm Bureau, Soil Conservation and many MDA departments.

To our local Business supporters thank you for making this fair better to serve its community whether it was as a fair sponsor, vendor, advertiser, donator or contributor.

To all the US Military who provide for our continued freedom and protection THANK YOU FOR YOUR SERVICE!
